You know the saying I've said a few times in my posts about liberals are all for free speech as long as it's their speech?
Well another great example of this was in this article Speak other than liberal, you can't work here! where an actress who endorsed a Republican candidate in California lost her job for doing so.
Maria Conchita Alonso a long time actress and one which I have always enjoyed seeing endorsed this candidate recently in an ad.
In response she lost her job because the liberal employers didn't like a conservative being associated with them nor what she had to say. Now this was not in any way associated with the job she was hired to do which was act in a play, but instead something completely separate.
So she lost her job and the liberal running the play made a point of saying that Mrs. Alonso definitely had the right to say whatever she wanted to but that they had the right to object to what she says.
The question I have is do they have the right to fire someone as their means of objection?
I certainly hope not and I hope Mrs. Alonso takes whatever legal actions are open to her to make a statement about this so it never happens again.
Taking someone's employment, someone's livelihood, away from them because you don't like what they have to say is a frightening precedent if its allowed to stand.
I wonder how the liberals would like it and what would happen if a conservative employer fired Hanoi Jane for what she said and did as an objection to it?
I bet it wouldn't be okay then. Substitute whatever liberal whack job actor/actress you like and you get the idea.
I further bet if the shoe was on the other foot that such actions would be met not only with outrage but quickly made to be illegal if its not already.
Its like I have said, free speech is perfectly acceptable if it agrees with the liberals otherwise forget it.
